Perfectly Separated Layers

Data Service Platform of Cnix perfectly separates the layers of IT service and field. It means that IT services don’t need to be modified even if related hardware components were changed. In the same way, hardware components don’t need to be modified neither whenever IT services are changed. This feature should be required if system was big such like smart city or smart factory , had various and numerous devices and even should be run without interruption.

In the field layer where various devices are installed, hardware should be replaced by new one due to its fault or lifetime. If there isn’t anything which separates layers between software and hardware, application software related to the given hardware should be modified whenever hardware is changed because the way of interface is not same device by device for examples of communication protocol, data format and name of data.

Data Service Platform standardized the interface between the layer of IT services and Data Service Platform and the data format from various devices including meta information. In other words, application software in the layer of IT services doesn’t need to be rewritten to read or write data for the given physical signals, and people can omit the test processes which should be done if software was modified.

This feature of Data Service Platform makes system be able to avoid the risk of stability which can be arisen by modification of software, and minimize the interval to stop services for maintenance. If IT services were redundant then it is possible to maintain system without interruption.
