Smart City

What is the Smart City? Let’s see what they are doing for their smart city. They are launching new public services based on state-of-art IT technology such as Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Cloud, IoT and so on. Then, can we call such cities Smart City if they armed with only IT technology?

Cnix has thought about how to define Smart City for a long time. Of course the cities, armed with IT technology, can be called Smart City, too. But Cnix wanted to see and define the Smart City with a little bit different viewpoint which focuses on the functionality of city.

The Smart City that Cnix defines is a city which can be upgraded and changed by only upgrading and engineering software. It may be similar to a personal computer that we are using in every day. A computer can be upgraded and used for another mission just by upgrading or installing operating system. So if the functionality of city could be easily upgraded and changed like a personal computer, alive and evolved like organism, then Cnix will call it Smart City.

The city that has Data Service Platform, built by softDCS, can be easily upgraded and modified with only modification and engineering softDCS. Even the all facilities in city can be logically linked to each other on the engineering environment of softDCS, so the whole of city can be evolved just like organism. And Data Service Platform can ensure data integrity which are used by public IT services because data in Data Service Platform are synchronized on time domain by softDCS.

This is Smart City which Cnix defines. Cnix is working on supplying Data Service Platform to areas of security like CCTV, transportation like subway and air traffic monitoring, and smart grid of electric power to build a Smart City.
