Who are we?

Cnix started at the year of 2003 and working on system integration. In those days, the hot issue was how to integrate enormous different kinds of devises such as PLC, DDC, DCS and another standalone devices because the size of plant was becoming to be bigger and bigger and the various machines for new processes required. So we suggested the way of data integration via industrial network, and update it for a long time by applying our solutions to various fields. Finally we could have a perfect solution which we call it softDCS. It means "software based Distributed Control System".

softDCS has been very successful to integrate various devices. Even It succeeded to integrate the number of 1,400 different kinds of devices whose number of makers reached to 27 with standardized format and unique name of data recently. This made IT service developer use data easily without consideration of field devices. What they had to know was just only the name of data. It means that “softDCS” perfectly separated the layer of IT services from the layer of field hardware.

The reason why devices in fields should be integrated with standard format is that it can makes different but consecutive processes to be linked so the speed of total process can be fast. This helps the efficiency of manufacturing. But the problems are the different communication protocols from each devices and the kind of devices depends on machine suppliers.

For these problems, people in industrial fields have made several solutions such like OPC, MODBUS open protocol, IO servers and so on. But in my experiences, they couldn’t have met the all interface conditions of much various type of devices, especially scan-time of devices and it is not easy for IT developer to use data in various platforms and with various program languages. So the super fast integration and easy application became to the goals of softDCS.

The requirement of data integration from different kinds of devices or enormous number of devices would be compulsory in these days because state-of-art IT technologies such Artificial Intelligence, BigData, Cloud, IoT should be fed flawless data without any loss. We have recognized that softDCS can be one of best options for data service through long time experiences on data integration.
